Every commentator worth his bile has had his/her say on the Kirsty MacColl ‘faggot’ debacle.
Just in case you missed it, the BBC bleeped out the word ‘faggot’ on her classic Christmas record Fairytale Of New York (in duet with Pogues singer Shane MacGowan) – for fear of offending the gay and politically correct brigade.
I won’t add to the pile of condemnation for this utterly ridiculous decision, unsurprisingly rescinded last night. But I would like to add a word or two in defence of faggots.
Mr Brain’s are good for supermarket fare. But try a good Lincolnshire butcher, or even The Fantastic Sausage Factory in Weymouth, for the best!
Yummee! Faggots never tasted better.
I’ll let you explain that to our American friends…
