So, the executives of the failed Northen Rock are SMERSH agents, too (newcomers see previous entry). According to a newspaper report this morning, they have been given ‘secret’ bonus payments of up to £100,000 each for ‘continuing excellent performance’.

Presumably in the art of cocking-up.

So confident was Chief Executive Andy Kuipers in the public’s ability to understand the reasoning behind NR’s £55billion black hole that he told recipients of the bonus to keep the news to themselves – or forfeit it.

Doesn’t that say it all about the Fat Cat class.

Let me reveal my little secret. In this instance, the last two letters of SMERSH stand for Shameless Hussies. Or perhaps one of those old-fashioned brick public conveniences.
