Okay, if you insist – the crab and prawn joke.
Princess Petula, the daughter of the King Prawn, fell in love with Colin the Crab. They dated secretly for some time and then decided to get married. When Petula told the King she was in love, he was delighted. When she told him her intended was a crab, he was furious.
‘I’m not having my beautiful Princess marry a common crab!’ he roared. ‘Stupid things can’t even walk straight. My daughter will never marry anyone who walks sideways!’
Petula and Colin were distraught. But Colin knew there was only thing for it. He told her, ‘I must leave and find a way to satisfy your father.’
Petula moped in his absence. The King, worried for her health, organised a Grand Ball for all the Eligible Bachelors of the area. Still moping Petula sat watching the hopefuls arrive. It made her sadder still – until she saw Colin advancing towards her. Walking forwards! Straight, not sideways.
She rushed up to him. ‘Oh, Colin,’ she exclaimed loudly. ‘You can walk properly. Let’s go and tell Daddy.”
‘Sshhhh,’ he said. ‘I’m pissed.’
